It's common to think that we need to set goals, especially around the new year. But are goals necessary? Are they helpful?

We make sense of our world by creating stories of our lives. We have the ability to change our narratives into more helpful stories.

We will die, but we do everything we can to distract ourselves from that fact. Reminding ourselves of our finitude helps keep us authentic.

Our lives will consist of what we did. How can we design our lives so we would be happy to look back on them from our deathbeds?
