What I'm Up to Right Now

Updated: November 4, 2025

Professionally

Money Quotient: My day job is working for Money Quotient, where I train financial professionals in financial life planning and client communication. Much of my time is spent teaching and facilitating workshops that help advisors bring more meaning and humanity into their client relationships.

Writing: I continue to write regularly, now for two audiences. I stil publish Meaningful Money, my consumer-focused column about the psychology of money and living intentionally. I've also since launched Life Planning Weekly, a column for financial professionals about communication, motivation, and advisor development.

Speaking and Teaching: I'm doing more speaking these days, presenting at conferences, hosting webinars, and teaching courses for professionals and firms interested in integrating behavioral science and life planning principles into their work.

Personally

Ukulele: I don't consider myself a musician. I love listening to music but never learned how to play an instrument until I took up the drums a few years ago. Lately, I've been trying to teach myself how to play the ukulele.

Magic: I am what you might call an "amateur magician," if by amateur you mean someone who fumbles around and hopes you didn't see me palm that card! I enjoy learning and performing (for friends and family only) card tricks. Learning about magic piqued my interest in learning more about psychology and attention.

Reading: I continue reading a lot. If you're interested, you can check out what I've been reading.

Squash: I play a lot of squash, including Squash 57. I play at least three times per week for about two hours. Recently, I started playing hardball doubles. My game (in all three sports) continues to improve (but still isn't great), and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Outdoors: We try to spend as much time as possible outside, even in the winter months. That could mean hiking, skiing, or simply walking our dog, Bingo.

Camping: Camping is done for the year. But, we look forward to getting the Airstream out next spring!
