What I'm Up to Right Now

Professionally
Expanding My Reach: I am exploring different ways to expand the number of people I'm able to help. This includes finding ways to leverage my writing and speaking, as well as searching for opportunities to increase my audience. I'll be creating more courses, both for consumers and financial advisors.

Meaning in Life: I've been reading and researching a lot about meaning in life and how we can design our lives in such as way that we will view them as meaningful, giving ourselves permission to avoid things that we don't find meaningful.
​
Mindfulness: I continue to research and practice mindfulness and meditation. The more I learn, the more I am coming to understand that most of our problems have to do with our inability to pay attention to life's experiences. Mindfulness is the antidote.
​
Sketch Store: I am working on repurposing some of my sketches into a Sketch Store. This could include purchasing the rights to use the images, as well as physical products, such as calendars and prints.
Personally
Ukulele: I don't consider myself a musician. I love listening to music but never learned how to play an instrument until I took up the drums a few years ago. Lately, I've been trying to teach myself how to play the ukulele.

Magic: I am what you might call an "amateur magician," if by amateur you mean someone who fumbles around and hopes you didn't see me palm that card! I enjoy learning and performing (for friends and family only) card tricks. Learning about magic piqued my interest in learning more about psychology and attention.

Reading: I continue reading a lot. If you're interested, you can check out what I've been reading.
​
Squash: I play a lot of squash. I play at least three times per week for about an hour and a half. My game continues to improve (but still isn't great), and I have a lot of fun doing it.
​
Outdoors: We try to spend as much time as possible outside. That could mean hiking, biking, walking our dog Bingo, or simply sitting on the deck. Summer is short in Minnesota, and we try to take advantage of the nice weather when we can.
​
Camping: Camping is a little slow this year. We acquired a new camping trailer, but don't have a truck that can tow it yet. We ordered it in mid-November!
