What I'm Up to Right Now
Updated: June 12, 2026
Professionally
Root Financial: My day job is as a lead financial advisor at Root Financial, where I work with clients on financial life planning, helping them get clear on what their money is actually for before diving into the strategies and numbers that help them retire on their own terms.

Writing: I continue to write regularly at Meaningful Money, my consumer-focused column about the psychology of money and living intentionally.
Personally
Ukulele: I don't consider myself a musician. I love listening to music but never learned how to play an instrument until I took up the drums a few years ago. Lately, I've been trying to teach myself how to play the ukulele.

Magic: I am what you might call an "amateur magician," if by amateur you mean someone who fumbles around and hopes you didn't see me palm that card! I enjoy learning and performing (for friends and family only) card tricks. Learning about magic piqued my interest in learning more about psychology and attention.

Reading: I continue reading a lot. If you're interested, you can check out what I've been reading.

Squash: I play a lot of squash, including Squash 57. I play at least three times per week for about two hours. Recently, I started playing hardball doubles. My game (in all three sports) continues to improve (but still isn't great), and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Outdoors: We try to spend as much time as possible outside, even in the winter months. That could mean hiking, skiing, or simply walking our dog, Bingo.

Camping: We get the Airstream out as much as possible, using it for camping trips and occasionally as a mobile office.
